    The foobla Restricted Registration (aka: jLord Restricted Registration) is a system plugin thaw allows you to prevent certain usernames from being registered. For example, you might not want someone to register by the name "webmaster" or "admin" since it could give other users wrong ideas about their identity.

    One way to accomplish this is to pre-register those usernames, thus effectively blocking them. But this is quite awkward, and not very elegant. RegistrationBlocker makes it a lot more convenient to block one or more usernames. All you have to do is to enter the usernames in the mambot's backend, one on each line. You can even use an asterisk as a wildcard for blocking a whole range of usernames. For example, if you enter admin* in the list, you will block usernames beginning with admin like admin, administrator, administration and so forth. With *admin* you will block all names containing admin, like siteadministrator etc.

    This extension is based on RegistrationBlocker from Martin Larsen.

    This extension is a very simple plug-in that authenticates the email address that a user uses to sign-up to a Joomla site. Tested and working with standard Joomla registration, Community Builder (tested against 1.2) and Virtuemart.

    Simply install the plug-in and enable it - email addresses are automatically validated by querying against undisposable.net. If undisposable.net is unavailable (to the server) for some reason, then the email address will be considered valid.

    There are two parameters - one is the message that will be displayed if an email address is rejected, and the other is an optional URL redirect. I have included a URL redirect as it appears that with Community Builder 1.2, the message will not be displayed showing the reason for rejection; the user will simply be returned to a blank registration page.

    This plug-in is released under GPL (version 2).

    There will be a new plugin soon that includes blocking registration based on username, domain, and/or IP address.
