    Have you ever wished you could set start and end dates for when modules display? Or wished you could set up your modules so that guests connecting from the USA see a different module to people connecting from Germany? Or wanted to restrict modules by IP address?

    Now you can. MetaMod is a “Meta Module” - a module that includes other modules, according to rules that you set up.

    If you download and install the free GeoLite Country database from MaxMind, you can base your rules on the country names of the people connecting to your site (GeoIP targeting).

    As you probably know, Joomla 1.5 doesn't allow a granular Access Control, but an ACL will probably be a feature of new Joomla! versions (1.6?). In the meantime, I decided to write this simple extension.

    This totally unobtrusive plugin allows you to introduce some basic Access Control in your Joomla! extensions (components and modules), without having to edit the Joomla! core files or the Joomla! core database.

    If you need to categorize your users in groups (let say, students and teachers), giving them specific permissions in the front-end and/or different views of your Joomla! website, this Joomla! plugin is what you need.

    Simply install the plugin through the Joomla!plugin installer and enable it.

    Then, install the GUI component, that will allow you to manage groups and permissions in a snap!

    JACLPlus is an Access Control List (ACL) Enhancements Hacks Component for Joomla!. As all of you whom familiar with Joomla! (previously Mambo) know that Joomla! is a very powerful and award winning CMS. Nevertheless, its ACL is its biggest weakness because you are unable to create new Groups or new Access Levels besides those default groups/access levels. Many CMS advanced users have switched to use other CMS becouse of this issue.

    However, future version of Joomla! will solve this issue :). Then the question is why we still want to build this component? This is because a couple of our customers require this features as they would like to have their own created groups in their website since we had persuaded them to use Joomla! CMS. Besides that, we also would like to prove to you that with a slightly modification/hack, Joomla! ACL can compete with other CMS ACL features.

    This component will enable you to create new user groups and/or new access levels. Besides these, it also enable you to assign multiple access levels to a group to make your contents' access more controllable. Combination of user groups and access levels, you will able to create complicated Access Control meanwhile you can also maintain the original access control if you wished.

    For those who are curious, JACLPlus stand for Joomla! Access Control List Plus.

    One ore more group name should be passed, you can expressly deny access by putting a '!' before the group name in question. It will keep looping through the list provided until it finds a 'true' value so strange results may occur with conflicting group access. The standard Joomla! hierarchy applies so an Editor, would be allowed to see content secured by the Registered or Author group names.

    Valid group names are:
    * guest
    * registered
    * author
    * editor
    * publisher
    * manager
    * administrator
    * super administrator
    * special (administrator or super administrator)

    The Login Redirect Module is a simple module that is designed to handle situations where the user may login to a front page from various systems however you may not wish them to see that page (particularly for SSO landing pages). The login redirect module when displayed will check if the user is logged in and if so redirect them to the appropriate location. It is useful then to assign this module to specific pages that should only be seen by users who haven't logged into the system. In the situation where the user isn't logged in, the module remains inert and inactive.

    This native Joomla 1.5 plugin allows you to specify the pages of a particular component that are visible to guests versus those pages of the component that require the user to login first. This is useful if you have a component - such as myblog, and you want certain blog pages to be viewable by guests, however, you want other blog pages to be viewable only by logged-in users.

    It works for any component - just provide the component name - the part that comes after "/index.php?option=" (for example: com_myblog) in the plugin parameter "Component Name".
