Fight SPAM! This plugin helps to ensure that your website authors and editors will not become victim to email harvesting bots by posting email addresses on the website. By using images rather than text, you will offer a higher level of security (arguably) against email harvesting robots. Here is the logic

    1. josbwrewiIt takes a robot upwards of a second or more to decode an image
    2. Each web page has many images
    3. Each website has many pages
    4. By the time the robot is finished crawling a site it might have spent several minutes.
    5. Its simply too costly on the spammer's system resources just to attempt to collect a single email address.
    6. Also, since this bot allows administrators to set their own fonts, it is much more difficult for a spammer to build a script which will decode all joomla websites.

Of course, the very best way, is to get the authors to simply direct emails to the contact forms built into Joomla, but quite often they will forget. Joomla does offer protection by default, but without this plugin, it does not support images.

    Features:

    1. Use any font you wish! TTF or OTF supported.
    2. Images are created in .png format to support transparency, or a specific background color
    3. Change the font size; make the email images big or small!
    4. Change the colors to whatever you want.
    5. All changes can be done through the mambot administration panel

Ban IP Address and Range is a small system plugin for Joomla! 1.5 that provides the ability to blacklist (block) IP addresses and ranges or whitelist (block all but those notated). Each entry is specified on its own line and ranges are specified using CIDR formatting (e.g. 192.168.1.0/24). Both administrator and site can be blocked or permitted using different lists or modes.

In the sample to the left, the site is in blacklist only mode. This means that any access from the IP range listed (172.19.1.0/24) will be blocked with the message "Your IP address has been blocked".

The administrator is in whitelist only mode which means that the user has to come from the IP address 172.19.5.40 or the network 172.19.10/24.

JDiagnostic provides a testing interface to validate IP address combinations prior to applying them enabling you to test if you will be locked out of your site.

    Redirect Failed Login

This little plugin allows you to redirect any failed login attempts to another page. The latest version can deter hackers by adding a programmable time delay after a failed login attempt. Upon a failed login attempt, you can redirect to a URL in your Joomla site, redirect to a completely different site, or not redirect at all (default). Optionally, you can also have it display a message such as "Login Failed - please try again".

    V1.51: Adds 2 important features:
    1) Adds a time delay on login failures - to discourage brute force login attacks on your site. The default delay is 10 seconds, you can change the delay in the plugin options. Even if you do not redirect failed logins, you can use this plugin to add a time delay after failed login attempts. This will discourage hackers from trying to hack into your site. The time delay helps to protect both the front-end and back-end logins - just use the default settings.

    2) An option to enable/disable clearing of the page cache upon login failure. The default is set to "No" clearing. You can change this to "Yes" if you are using the system cache plugin (page cache) and your redirection messages do not appear because the page cache is showing a stale copy of your redirected page.

The AntiPhorm Joomla! plugin is now available for download. This is a standard plugin for Joomla!, consisting of a mambot and module pair, that allows you to very easily add Phorm-like spyware detection to your Joomla! site (gosh, all those ! marks are annoying).

This module gives you the option of detecting Phorm-like activity in two ways - via cookie interference detection, or by the presence of the visitor's IP address in the PhormCheck database - or both. Once you've detected a suspicious-looking visitor, you can choose how to handle them - you can block them completely from your site by redirecting them automatically to an information page, or you can display a warning banner that will inform them of the dangers to their privacy.
