    Simple Mooticker module displays horizontal scrolling text using the Joomla! build in mootools framework. You can choose if you want to type your text manually or still take the latest news from sections or categories (by ID). The module has several styling options like width, height, background color, border styles and font styles. Additionally you can choose the scrolling direction. It generates a valid output and uses "div" tags only. For users with javascript disabled in their browsers you can define a text for the "no script" tag. Please read the mouseover descriptions for the parameters.

    Simple Mooticker v.1.5.4 for Joomla! 1.5.x native by medien.stroeme (www.medienstroeme.de) is based on the original mooquee script from Dirar Abu Kteish (www.developer.ps/moo/mooquee) and the Joomla! core module "latest news".

    The script has been successfully tested in IE5.5, IE6, IE7, FF2, FF3, Safari 3.2 and Opera 9.5 (all for windows).

    I have spent several hours recently, looking without success for a Joomla module that would allow me to publish item's titles as a scrolling text.
    Even though it's an easy task in static html, when it comes to Joomla and Joomla content items, it turned out to be a bit tricky. All of the Joomla modules I managed to find did more than I needed - from image slideshows, image scrolling scripts to ones that scrolled a whole content items through the site.
    After examining the options, I  rolled up my sleeves and spent another few hours developing a Joomla module that does exactly what I needed - a simple text scroller that publishes content item titles in a MARQUEE html tag: mod_scroller module. It enables the user to manually choose Joomla Section or Joomla Category from which to publish the content, to select speed and the direction of the scrolling and more. All the titles are linked to the appropriate content and the scrolling stops when mouse is over the scrolling area.

    This is a plugin which allows you to display an up-down scroller that pauses between each message! The scroller is displayed right inside your article or content item.

    The original code was written by dynamicdrive.com. What I've done is to wrap the code into a Joomla plugin so that you can use it within your Joomla articles.

    You can have multiple scrollers, each with different width, height and alignment (float to left or right).

    Note that you can have different pause intervals for each scroller. The first one above scrolls once every 3 seconds. The second one on the left scrolls once every 4 seconds.

    You can also easily create a single line scroller just by adjusting the scroller's height appropriately!
