CB "Public Mail" plugin enables visitors and unregistered users on your site to email the registered users directly from their CB profile page through a small contact form that can be styled and customized.
The plugin is great if your CB profiles are companies, teachers, artists, musicians, shops, vendors, suppliers etc. or you simply want to let site visitors contact sites users/profiles without being registered.
The registered users' email address may be kept secret if wanted, and it is possible to save all emails sent by users in the database, thereby also registering the sending IP. Also, a copy of a sent email can be sent to the submitter along with a "thank you" email, if wanted. This CB plugin has support for CB Captcha and can be configured/styled a lot! -

The Invite a Friend CB Plugin is an addition to the Joomla Community Builder component. The plugin allows registered users of your site ('invitors') to send templated emails to their friends ('invitees'), inviting them to join the Joomla site. In addition to sending these automated emails, the plugin allows administrators (and users, if desired) to monitor the number of invitations that have been sent and accepted.
Ironically, Community Builder has no built-in functionality to grow a community (that I could find)! Although similar features can be realised using Marc Galang's Invite a Friend component and Michael Spredemann's Invite a Friend plugin, that particular combination has two major drawbacks:
* Since both Community Builder and Invite a Friend by-pass Joomla's registration component, you need to merge the modifications of both components to get complete functionality—i.e., presenting invited users with Community Builder's extended registration form.
* To function properly, the Invite a Friend component requires the invitee to follow the link in the automatically generated email. If, instead, the invitee first explores the site and then clicks on a 'Register' or 'Sign-up' link, the invitor will not get credit for a successful invitation.
Fortunately, the Invite a Friend CB Plugin solves both of these issues. -
